A weekend trip to Yosemite National Park in late September

by Law Library on 2019-10-15T08:00:00-05:00 | 0 Comments

Day 1:

This is my second time visiting the park. Just like the first time, my friends and I rented a car in SFO airport and drove to Yosemite. We decided to go to Glacier Point to see Half Dome at sunset first. It took us about 5 hours to get there from SFO but the view, again, was well worth the drive. It wasn’t long after we arrived until the darkness covered the sky and soon after, we were able to see the Milky Way. Even better, my friends were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a shooting star. Mad envious. We then headed back to our lodge around 10 pm

Day 2:

We started our second day with Olmsted Point and Tenaya Lake. Olmsted Point is about an hour away from Yosemite Village and Tenaya Lake is about 5 minutes from Olmsted Point. We spent the rest of our day in Yosemite Village visiting Mirror Lake, Curry Village, Cathedral Beach, Bridalveil, and Tunnel View. If you want to avoid the crowds, visiting Yosemite in September is the perfect time for you. However, if you want to go chase the waterfalls, you might want to consider going during the summer. Yosemite Falls was all dried up during the time we were there and that was a little bit disappointing.

Day 3:

We headed home the next morning.

Notes:

  • There is an entrance fee of $35/car and it is valid for 7 days
  • The drive to and from Glacier Point is windy and tough, make sure you pay extra attention
  • Foods can be purchase in the village
