Skip to Main ContentOffice 365 is a version of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically designed for online usage. It offers various regular Office products, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive, over the internet so you can collaborate with fellow students in addition to using them on your computer. This page will guide you how to use the suite.
This guide shows you how to use Office 365 through the web browser.
1. Log in to your school email at webmail.unt.edu. Your email is provided to you at https://ams.unt.edu/, and your password is the same one used for MyLaw and other UNT Dallas COL accounts.
2. Click on the grid icon at the top left, which is the app launcher icon. A list of apps will pop up.
3. Click "All apps" to find the list of apps available to you.
4. There are many apps which are available to you to use for various purposes. However, the most important ones which are or may be used are Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, OneNote, and Outlook. (Outlook is the default email client which is used when you log in.)
5. When in any of the apps, click the File tab, and then click "Save" or "Save As" to save a document. You can then access it for use later when in the app, or through OneDrive, in order to store your documents over the internet.
Note: The different Office products may not have all the features available as the downloadable versions. You can usually download offline copies if you would like to use them with the full versions of Office.

Note: Clicking "Other install options" will give access to additional options, such as the ability to install Skype for Business or a 32-bit version, if your computer is 32 bit. However, the version your browser will detect is acceptable and you do not usually need to change custom settings. Also, under Install Options, you can see where you have installed Office, and you are allowed to install it on 5 devices for free. You can also find links to versions for iOS or Android.
