Criminal Procedure (Texas)

Criminal Procedure (Texas)

How to Use this Guide

This guide is intended to introduce you to some of the key resources available at the UNT Dallas College of Law Library for researching criminal procedure in Texas. However, note that many of the materials offered are not exclusive to Texas; this is particularly true for the study aids and several treatises, which are created for a national audience of law students.

Important Terms:

Treatises - Treatises are in-depth treatments of a legal subject written by scholars in the field. Consult them at any stage in your research -- whether you're looking for an overview of the subject or detailed analysis of a particular point of law.  Pay attention to the footnotes for references to other sources, both primary and secondary. Look for practice materials here as well - these are resources attorneys rely on for straightforward advice on how to practice in a specific area of the law.

Study Aids - Study aids are materials other than your casebook that help explain the law. Study aids can be especially useful to double-check your understanding of the material as you prepare your course outlines.
