Instructional Technology Tips for Students: Security

This page provides information on technology used at the UNT Dallas College of Law, including tutorials, troubleshooting information, and contact information for further assistance

Security

On this page, you will find a list of security tutorials so that you may learn how to protect yourself from the dangers of the internet. You will also find contact info and links in order to know who to contact in case you need to report any security incidents.

Antivirus

UNT Dallas College of Law requests that you run an antivirus on all computers that are used for College of Law activities. This not only helps protect you and our networks, but it is part of an attorney's duty of competence with regards to technology.

UNT System currently provides free access to McAfree Endpoint antivirus for all students, faculty, and staff. You will need to verify your identity with your EUID and password in order to download and install the program.

If you do not wish to run McAfee, you are welcome to use most other antivirus programs. You will need to learn how to disable your antivirus program when running Examplify. Leaving an antivirus enabled during an exam runs the risk of conflicts arising between the antivirus software and Examplify. Please do not use the Webroot antivirus (may be offered to you by Best Buy). It is known to have conflicts with Examplify, even if disabled during an exam, and may cause the loss of your hard drive contents.
